Darklings Arise

You're best friend isn't who you thought they were. In fact, the world you know isn't what you thought it was, either. Your friend tells you of another World. Yeah, that's a capital 'W'. There are so many other Worlds out there beyond our own. Then there are the people who have created them. The Chosen. The Sky-Painters. The Royal Bloods. Call them what you wish. But they create and rule these Worlds, filled with creatures of their own design. And then... There are the Darklings.

Darklings feed off of any living creature's emotions, until they have no more soul to feel with. They move, they breath, they're still alive physically. But mentally, emotionally, they are dead, hollow. These creatures roam every World, and always have. They are the darker side of everyone's thoughts. The physical form of the evil in their minds. And their Master... The Darkling Master is the most ruthless, cold-hearted, bloodthirsty and cruel Darkling ever to live. He has been in the Worlds since the very first Sky-Painter was born.

You find all of this out in less than an hour. You can barely believe it. So you decide to play along with your friend, just so you don't hurt their feelings. They tell you that you are a Sky-Painter, a ruler of one of the blank Worlds. So you make a map, a story, creatures, kingdoms, and another you. A doppleganger to rule in your place. It has your personality, your memories. You think it's fun, at first. Then something happens to shatter the delicate balance of Light and Dark forever.
