What do you so when you're friend tells you that her mother has been abusing her? My friend just told me that her mom has hit her and everything and is begging me not to tell anyone. What do I do?

Since she told you not to tell, I wouldn't go to any officials just yet. You should urge her to try and speak up about it. She'll definitely be mad if you tell anyone, so the only thing you can really do is to get her to say something.

Thats the thing, she won't tell anyone. Her mom has thrown books at her and hit her and everything. She said it was her 'punishment'
She keeps make excuses for for her mom.

Then what I would do, if she refuses to tell anyone, is to tell an adult who you trust about it.
