Social Suicide

it's suicide to speak
and she knows it
but she has to try, anyway

she is ignored

she goes home and cries
her diary listens
her teddy bear listens
but mommy's at work so she can't listen

ii.
she tries to sit with them but
("no" "but-" "no")
so she tries to sit with them
but it's just the same

she sits alone

she goes home and dies
just a little inside
her teddy bear listens
her diary's her friend

iii.
she smiles at them
they just glare back
("can we be friends?")
she doesn't care anymore

she cries silently

she goes home and kills herself
a little outside
her teddy bear listens
and her razor is her friend

8th grade

i.
new year, fresh start
or not
("hi!" "stupid bitch")
she just keeps smiling

she doesn't go to school that day

she goes to her room
and breaks the mirror
and screams at her reflection
but she's got her friend with her

ii.
she's not at school anymore
they whisper where she went
("ran away" "died" "i hope so")
she's still smiling

she's just so happy

she sit in her room
and dies inside and outside without them knowing
she's replaced the razor with a new best friend
a noose

iii.
they come to school
but principal sends them home
("go home. i can't look at your faces")
the world stops spinning when the news comes on.

iiii.
she's not alone

she hangs from the rafters
little sister's screams
and tears mix with her sister's blood
her wrist is bleeding
on her suicide note
