Let the 76th Hunger Games Begin!

Out of a post-apocalyptic North America rises the shining nation of Panem. Twelve Districts ruled by the Capitol. There were Thirteen Districts... In the Dark Ages. Before the rebellion that completely obliterated District Thirteen and it's inhabitants. And now, that Capitol takes revenge on the people of the Districts by forcing each District to send one girl and one boy between the ages of 12 and 18 to the Hunger Games by using the Reapings. The Hunger Games is a fight to the death with 24 children, and whoever is the last alive, wins a lifetime supply of food and comfort.

District 1- Graphite mining
District 2- Don't know lol
District 3- Explosives, mechanics, etc.
District 4- Fishing
District 5- Oopsie lol
District 6- >.< Grr
District 7- Lumber, wood.
District 8- Cloth, ribbon, etc.
District 9- Rawwr! xP
District 10- Cattle, livestock
District 11- Agriculture and farming
District 12- Coal mining

TOTALLY EPIC! TOTALLY AWESOME! TIME TO START!

Setting: Everyone in each district has just arrived in the district square for the Reapings, to see who gets picked for the Games.

Rowan stood at the very front of the line of children at the side of the stage in the District square. The line, front to back, was ordered to be oldest to youngest. Effie Trinket, the escort for the tributes of District 12 each year, was speaking in her overly cheery and upbeat tone. "What a big, big, big day! Let's see who our girl tribute is!" A huge white-toothed grin plastered to her face, Effie went to the girls' reaping ball and dug around for a minute for a slip of paper. She pulled out the slip and read the name. "Rowan Ashe!"

Aaron watched as his older friend walk up onto the stage, sympathy filling his eyes. "Poor Rowan," he muttered. Although he was slightly relieved that it hadn't been his little sister. "Okay, let's choose our boy tribute," Effie chirped. She practically hopped back to the boys' reaping ball and pulled out a name. "Aaron Fletcher!" Damn. Aaron though resignedly.

Miri bit her lip keeping eye contact with her little brothers through the crowd. Their escort walked onto stage and smiled. "Well, well well," She began, "Ladies first" She walked over to the girls reaping ball and rooted around for a few moments before pulling out a slip of paper. She cleared her throat and red the name. "Miri Jacelan." She announced, her voice chipper as always. Miri pulled her eyes away from her little brother and walked up on stage.

Hunter stood in the middle of the mass of boys who had been herded into their usual area for the reaping. He sighed as the districts escort came up on stairs and gave an over exaggerated talk onhow today was a big day for all of them and the honor in being a tribute, which Hunter spared barely any attention. They drew the girls name then proceeded to the boys reeping ball and pulled out a name. "Hunter Ryland, come on up." He announced with a smile.

Rowan and Aaron stood still as their escort concluded the ceremony. Then Haymitch, their mentor and the person that would help them plan out their strategies when they entered the arena, stumbled on stage. He was extremely drunk and laughing at something unknown. Then he hiccuped and passed out in the middle of the stage. "Moronic, drunken, Haymitch once again ruins the tributes chances of getting sponsered in the arena," Aaron muttered. Rowan stifled a laugh, then Haymitch was taken to the train on a stretcher. A few Peacekeepers, the guards that kept anyone from leaving the District, ushered them off stage and to the train.

Miri stood stiffly on stage next to the boy tribute from her district as the rest of the district cheered half heartedly. She watched her brothers before she was greeted by her mentor, an old engineer and hunger games victor named Greenwitch, and they were ushered by peacekeepers off of the stage and to an awaiting train.

Hunter joined the girls tribute, a girl he'd seen around the district but never really talked to, and stood as the escort wrapped up his speech with his usual obnoxious cheeriness. Their mentor walked onto stage and greeted them stoically and they left briskly for the trains, both tributes barely able to keep up with the long stride of their overly tall mentor.
