Sam yawned and rolled over on the couch. It was his night for the couch. Diana had gotten the bed and they'd done eeney meeney miney mo to see who would be on watch. That was Cris's job. They'd have to switch hideouts soon. They were running out of food and water. They'd been in the same place for a few months, a new best. He just hoped the zombies wouldn't get smart and figure out how to dig into the bunker.

Cris rubbed his eyes and streached, as exausted as he was he understood that falling sleeping could bring grave consequences. He leaned against the nearest wall and rolled a flashlight over in his fingers. He glanced upward at the clock on the wall, it read 4:45 am but he was unsure wheather or not that time was correct.

Diana was resting soundly, all four limbs spread out like a starfish on the bed.
