Advice for RP (newb)

Hi all,
I'm new to the forum and I was wondering if I could get any help from you guys for the Rp I'm writing.
It'll be a contemporary RP but the main antagonists will be daemons. I just need some advice for:
- Should the daemons be attached to a god (or gods) or something else?
- How would the daemons manifest themselves? Would they have to pass from another dimsension into ours or should they dwell somewhere on this planet or maybe even created?
