"DON'T TOUCH ME!" She shouted suddenly jerking away from Sym's grip. But the expression on her face suddenly became shock, as though she didn't really know where the out burst came from.
Andre snickered, "Tsk. Peyton, getting so mad, calm down." He moved swiftly and her arrow and bow were on the ground and he was gripping her chin. "Your...blood..." He murmured, his mouth and nose close to her neck.

Sym could feel anger rising in him. "Get your hands away from her!" He grabbed the back of the man's shirt and pulled him off. He twisted the man's arms behind his back. "Don't touch her again," Sym hissed.

//LOL no, you'll see. :3 He's one of the people out to have other's pieces and Peyton will help him with it, her blood will anyways.

Peyton stumbled back and landed on her butt with a thud.
"Oh look, your brain dead companion is protective." Andre scoffed and vanished. He'd be back later, when he could get Peyton alone.
"Sym, you alright?" She asked softly, not bothering to try and get up.

Sym turned to look at Peyton and rushed over, kneeling next to her. "Am I alright? The real question is, are you? That guy looked like he was about to rip your throat out with his teeth! God, why am I so useless? I could have defended you better..." Instantly he felt confused and ashamed. He sighed and pushed her hair back, pulling her into a hug.

Peyton was taken back by this movement. "W-what are you...?" Her cheeks had flushed, and she slowly, but awkwardly wrapped her arms around him. He had saved her life, protected her by putting his own life in danger she at least could hug him back. As they were in an embrace Peyton made a decision. That decision was that she was going to help Sym find all of his pieces, even if it meant her life. "Sym...?" Peyton looked up at him, her expression soft and warm. "Thank you..."

Sym's lips twitched up in a small smile. "Anything for you, Peyton. If you hadn't sewn my pieces together I'd still be a zombie," he whispered. As he pulled her into another hug, he saw something flash in the sunlight. It was a small, purple-colored piece of glass. "Hey Peyton..."

Peyton smiled this time, and hugged him back. "It really wasn't any trouble..." He was warm, and it had been a long time since she had felt the warmth of another. The sound of Sym's voice soothed her, made her feel safe and calm. "Yeah...?" She lifted her head and looked him in the face a breeze tossing her hair about gently.

Sym reached around her and carefully picked up the glass. He held it out to her. "Is it one of yours?" He turned it over, and it flashed an array of different colors.

Peyton reached out and touched it. "Yes, it's one of mine..." She didn't seem to happy to have it though. With a sigh she pulled from Sym and opened her pouch with her other pieces. "Thanks." She said softly as she slipped it away in the little bag. A piece of memory flooded back to her. Wincing she turned her back to Sym and started walking. "We better get going." She said coldly.

Sym frowned and followed. "Is everything alright," he asked. His voice lack concern, but the thought was still there, since he lacked the ability to be concerned.

"Yeah...fine.." Peyton kept walking, her eyes to the ground. It was getting dark and it looked like a storm was rolling in. When thunder cracked Peyton jumped, her thought being pulled from her mind. "Looks like we need to find shelter.." Peyton said, "I think we'd better go into the nearest town."

Sym looked up at the sky and nodded. "Last town I remember seeing is about five miles west," he said over the wind. "Won't take long if we alternate running and jogging."

Peyton nodded. "There should be a rubble pile with an opening that we can get into." And with that she started to run, the wind whipping her hair back behind her. They needed to find someplace, fast. The storm wasn't taking its sweet time, and the farther they went the strong the winds.

Sym jogged. It was all he needed to do to keep up. He was at least a foot or more taller than her, so his legs could make up for how fast Peyton was running. He could feel his now-dry shirt bouncing on his shoulder, so he pulled it on over his head as he jogged. The muscles in his back and shoulders moved as he did so, making him look leaner and stronger.

Peyton was surprised to see Sym runign so fast with so little effort. His long legs really made all the difference, and his muscles..."Stop it." She mumbled and shook her head, she was doing it again, letting Sym get to her. You're stronger than that, stop being such an idiot. Peyton scolded herself in thought.

Sym started jogging just slightly faster, but he kept behind Peyton in case that other guy showed up again. He was determined to keep her in his sight. Suddenly, he felt little rain-drops splatter on his nose. "It's starting to rain," he called. He had a sudden idea and pulled off his shirt again. He stuffed it in thepouch that held his pieces, which was water-tight. "Keep going. I think the forest opens up ahead."

Peyton nodded, "Alright!" She shouted over the wind. The wind was a huge challenge to run through, Peyton was light and several times she was almost knocked off her feet. Suddenly a down poor started, the rain falling in a diagonal fashion soaking Peyton. The wind caused her hair to whip her in the face, and it made her cheeks sting. "Crap." Peyton was fighting now to stay on her feet as the rain and wind starting picking up.

Sym could see Peyton was struggling. He got closer to her and wrapped his arms around her from behind, acting as a wall so she didn't get blown off her feet. "Keep walking! There's a cave over there," he shouted. He pointed to an opening in a pile of rocks somewhere off the the left.

Peyton jumped when he touched her, not expecting it. "Alright!" She shouted, and they pushed on until they got to the cave. Breathless, Peyton fell into the cave. She was soaked from head to toe and shivering. Her brown locks were dripping with water falling on to the exposed parts of her chest, and her shirt. Curling her knees into her chest she leaned against the cave wall, struggling to see Sym in the dark.

Sym sat next to her and started to wring out his pants. "You okay, Peyton? Cold?" He glanced over at her in the dark. She was shivering, he could see. He turned to her and started to wring out her hair gently, pulling his fingers through the tangled areas. He pulled his dry shirt out of the pouch and pulled it over her head. "I hope that feels warmer," he said.

Peyton nodded and tried to stop her teeth from chattering. "Thank you.." She said looking up at her hair in a crossed eyed manor, the way a kid might. Quickly she pulled the shirt back off and got up. "No peeking!" Peyton announced and it echoed in the cave. When Sym looked away Peyton undressed and slipped his shirt on, leaving her clothes on a branch that was sticking out from a crack in the cave wall, letting them drip dry. Sym's shirt fit her like a dress, resting on the middle of her thighs. "Okay!" Peyton said, giving Sym the okay to look. "Well, I better go get some fire wood!"

Sym shook his head and made her sit down. "You stay here and warm up. I'll get firewood." Sym went deeper into the cave, feeling around with his feet. He found a small pile of dead branches and dry grass for tinder. He made his way back to Peyton. "Do you have any metal objects? I need to make a spark."

Peyton nodded and reached in a pouch pulling out a small carving knife. "Hows this?" She asked holding it out to him, she shivered still. The cave was cold, and a breeze came through regularly. Puling her knees back to her chest, she watched Sym as he started to work. "I can help you know..."

"Don't worry, I know how to do this." Sym squatted down and set up the sticks and twigs carefully. He found a rock and started knocking it against the knife. After about fifteen minutes, a spark finally caught the grass and they had a small but cozy fire. "See? Now we can get warmer." His lips did that twitchy smile again and he sprawled out full-length on the cave floor next to the fire, stretching his arms up behind his head. The muscles in his bare torso were suddenly more defined.

//thing is, Sym can only feel affection, not love. So he can notice how beautiful peyton is, but he can't really care. I'm not sure the same thing applies to peyton xD muahaha... i can torture your character tons lol.

Peyton looked Sym up and down, and she bit her lip. Reluctantly she pulled her eyes from his washboard stomach and stared into the fire. "It's a lot better now.." She said regarding to the fire. Resting her chin on her knees she shut her eyes. There was something about Sym that got to her, and she couldn't dis-place it from her head. QUIT IT! You weak fool! Peyton was always hard on herself.
