[Peyton]

Vara nodded to him, knowing he was right though for some reason she felt slightly disappointed. They were going to be leaving for his kingdom tomorrow, if she remembered correctly. Shaking the thoughts away she pushed the door open and gasped audibly. There were candles and flowers everywhere, and she wasn't sure what to say or do now that she was looking at it. They had tried to be helpful, but now all Alavara felt was embarrassed and nervous.

[Fennec]

Cade sighed at the lovely effort the maids had made for them, feeling very disappointed the romantic atmosphere would be wasted on them. He motioned for Vara to go lie down while he gathered the flowers and put them in a vase on the bedside table, then snuffed out the small candles and set them aside. He was so tired after such a long day. Suddenly, he was too tired to care that it was his wedding night. He just wanted to sleep. Once he finished gathering things up, he fell into the bed, still fully clothed, with his golden circlet still resting upon his brow. He didn't even remove his boots before he was fast asleep.

[Peyton]

Vara was surprised when he fell asleep so quickly. She hadn't lied down yet, so when he practically collapsed she pulled off his shoes for him. Helped him out of his vest and slipped his crown from his head, doing it all carefully as to not wake him. Once that was done, Vara undressed herself in front of the fire where it would be warm, and slipped on her nightgown. It wasn't long until she herself was in the bed sleeping along side Alaric, rather close to him at that.

[Fennec]

Cade woke up sometime around noon the next day, feeling impossibly well-rested and comfortable. He never wanted to move. Why was he so comfortable? Correction. Why was his wife so comfortable? His eyes fluttered open and he smiled. He and Vara were tangled together hopelessly, and he wasn't sure where he started and she ended. Her cheek was pressed to his shoulder, their arms were wrapped around each other snugly, and his cheek rested atop her head. He believed he'd be content to lie there for thousands of years, just watching the morning sun pour in and set her hair on fire, see her eyelashes tremble gently as she dreamed.

[Peyton]

She slept for an hour longer than Cade and when she finally started to stir she threw her arms out into a stretch and mumbled his name, "Alaric...?" She murmured and her eyes opened slowly, closing for a moment against the light before opening again. When she realized just how close they were laying, Vara flushed and pulled back, not wanting to see Cade's no doubt amused expression. She was sure that he got some sort of amusement out of seeing her so flustered. "Morning," She managed and forced herself to look despite not wanting to, "How did you sleep?"

[Fennec]

Cade gave an airy laugh and pushed himself up into a sitting position. "Come now, love. Last night you were oh so eager to hop into bed with me as the wedding tradition, but now you're blushing because we were cuddling? Gosh, you may be the sweetest thing I've ever seen." He leaned in and kissed her lightly, hoping for some kind of embarrassed reaction. She looked so pretty when she was blushing and uncertain.

[Peyton]

Vara couldn't help but smile when he laughed, it was nice to hear him laugh. But when he kissed her, she blushed all over again, his words not helping to keep her embarrassment away either. "You're a jerk," She mumbled and pushed him playfully before moving to get out of bed. "Better get dressed," She said to herself and pushed to her feet.

[Fennec]

Cade smiled and laid back. "Mm, better get dressed. We have to pack as well. The boat sails off at midnight. It will be a three day journey across the sea, and then a day to relax and prepare for the second wedding. Oh..." He sat up and looked at her. "We have to figure out which castle we'll be staying at most of the time until we establish the between-city for everyone to pass through."

[Peyton]

She was slowly and not without care slipping off her nightgown, though she was embarrassed they were married and she needed to get used to it. Glancing over her shoulder Vara responded, "I would prefer my own, but I can handle either," She said and let her nightgown slip to her feet before she picked up a dress. She was naked now, but her back was turned and so she didn't feel as embarrassed as she could. "Once I'm dressed, I'll make sure all my things are packed," She told him.

[Fennec]

"Yes, I think I would prefer to stay here as well. Less eyes looking at you. Specifically, other demon men." Cade leaned back and was admittedly enjoying the view. Vara was such a beautiful woman, it was hard not to appreciate her curves and smooth, pale skin. And he was her husband. He was allowed to look, yes? Without hesitating he said, "You're a very lovely woman, Vara."

[Peyton]

She jumped at his compliment as though he'd just slapped her on the ass without her consent, "I- what?" She asked and looked over at him, still not dressed. He'd caught her off guard and she'd forgotten about her lack of clothing. Her cheeks were a bright red in the morning light, and her ice blue eyes were wider as she stared at him. Alavara had never seen herself as one to be lovely, or beautiful, never one to catch someone's attention even though if she'd paid attention she'd know that a man was almost always looking at her. Biting her lip she looked away from him shyly and turned to start getting dressed again.

[Fennec]

Cade laughed again and got out of bed, moving towards her. He stilled her hands, though she was only half dressed, and set his hands on her bare waist lightly. He was behind her, and hadn't yet seen anything, but his touch was so gentle and suggestive that it almost seemed as if he had seen all of her. He leaned in and swept her hair over her shoulder, brushing tender kisses up her spine and along her shoulders. "You are a stunning creature, and it's a wonder you don't have a line of suitors clamoring just to be in your presence," he breathed.

[Peyton]

Vara sighed into his touch and couldn't stop herself from leaning into him, even though she was aware of how naked the top half of her was. He was so...so well seductive and he knew just how to draw her in. Alavara would have been lying if she would have said she didn't find Cade attractive, and of course she was married to him now. So this was okay, wasn't it? Her cheeks flushed further and goosebumps rose on her skin, but he leaned into him still when she would have normally pulled away. "Alaric..." She found herself breathing his name against her own will. The needs of the body were betraying the wants of the mind.

[Fennec]

Cade closed his eyes and tried to sort out what she was feeling. He knew she was enjoying this on a physical level, definitely. But did she at all enjoy it in her mind? He couldn't just stop where he was. So he'd keep doing what he was doing. And wait to see how she reacted. His hands moved to her stomach and flattened out on her soft skin as he gently tugged her closer, pulling her to his chest. He bent his head again and dropped kisses along her collarbones, then brushed his lips lightly up her neck and gently tugged at her ear with his teeth. One of his hands moved to trace patterns lightly over her spine with the very tips of his nails, lighter than feathers.

[Peyton]

Vara was at sorts in her mind, the way he touched her, she wanted it physically but in her head it was still clouded. They were married, but she wasn't sure exactly how she felt about him. But, despite that she twisted to face him and to her own surprise slammed her lips into his. She sighed in content when he pulled her into him, and she didn't care that she wasn't dressed. Her husband was going to see all of her sooner or later and right now, all she could do was focus on him. At that moment, when her mind would not leave Cade, she knew how she felt. She liked him definitely, and she was certain that it was close to love. But right now, she wanted to test it and find out, just the two of them in the warm morning light.

[Fennec]

Cade's eyes started to glow their strange silvery gold and he made an odd whispering noise that came from his chest, but he held back his Scent. He needed to know for sure that this was how she truly felt. He was surprised and delighted when she kissed him so passionately, and returned her passion fully. Slowly, he stumbled back until he hit the bed and tumbled into it, holding a beautifully half-dressed Vara in his arms. He didn't know if bringing her to the bed was taking it too far, but he was so lost in her kiss that it didn't much dwell on his mind.

[Peyton]

Vara normally would have pulled free from him now, when they were on the bed together. But the only thing she managed was to move her head so that their lips met more firmly and fully. There were a million things running through her mind in this moment, but regret was not one of them. He was her husband now, and they were going to be together for a long time. Besides, Cade grew on her more and more every second, and she was liking being here with him. She hadn't been ready before, but that was over and she was ready now.  In this action she was committing herself to him completely and wholly, even if her heart was getting lost on the way there.

[Fennec]

Cade, breathing heavily, started tugging at his clothes. He pulled at his shirt so hard the buttons popped, and he shrugged the material from his shoulders. His hands were everywhere, in her hair and on her waist, her legs and breasts, everywhere. And then the door opened, and Cade froze, his face flushed.

[Peyton]

"Oh my!" A maid gasped and stopped at the door. Vara pushed herself free and pulled the dress on all the way, not bothering to worry about a corset or anything like that. "What do you need?" She asked the maid who was staring open mouthed. She bowed respectfully to Cade and Vara, "Breakfast M'lady," And then she ran out. Alavara was still breathing rather hard but she didn't take the time to look at Cade she simply gathered her things and went for the door. She had to find someone to help dress her and Cade wasn't the person, not after how heated they'd just been.

[Fennec]

Cade just watched, dizzy and quite sexually frustrated, as Vara walked from the room holding her clothes. He was now hopelessly confused and a little bit guilty. If she had truly wanted him as much as her actions suggested, why would she walk away so quietly, looking so grim? He sat up and tried to preoccupy himself with getting dressed and packing his things.

[Peyton]

As she walked down the hall, Vara thought about what had just happened. Blushing, she shook her head at herself, it wasn't that she hadn't wanted to be with her husband...but that she was embarrassed for being walked in on. She really hoped that Cade didn't take this the wrong way, they were married after all. Of course she would want to be a good wife, not only for him, but for herself as well. (oo lala) Walking to a changing/sewing room someone helped her dress and she walked back to the room where Cade was and silently started to pack her things which had been moved in a few days ago.

[Fennec]

//Ehhh, I don't know what to do. So I guess we should just timeskip to when they get on the boat and start leaving. Just tell me to edit if that's not a good idea.

Cade had been somewhat more quiet and distant the whole day, but now seemed slightly more excited. His eyes shined, and there was a permanent feeling around him that screamed, 'homesick.' He had started a conversation with Vara on the way to the boat about how to properly greet men and women of his kind. "When greeting women, you give each other a friendly touch on the left shoulder and exchange a greeting. Of course, this is more of a formal greeting..." And he went on. He was excited to interact with his own kind again. The boat would mostly consist of demons, plus a few human merchants and travelers.

[Peyton]

Vara was not very interested in what ever Cade was talking about, though she tried to fake it. When he paused she nodded, but kept her eyes on the road they traveled on. Since their time in the bedroom they hadn't really talked about anything important. Most of it was idle conversation, both of them unsure what really needed to be said. Now, Alavara's mind was wandering, she remembered Cade talking of how humans were seen as weak and wondered what her reception would be like. Would they accept her with open arms as most of her people had with Cade? Would they attack her and yell at her? She wasn't sure but she did know that she was very nervous on the subject.

[Fennec]

Cade's voice drifted off and was replaced by the sound of horse hooves as he realized Vara wasn't listening or caring. He wanted to stop the horses and pull her into his arms, tell her how he felt about what happened, ask her why she was being so indifferent to him. None of these thoughts mattered though as the sea came into view over the hill. There was the boat, glowing softly in the stark white light of the moon. He could see people moving around, and for a moment he thought he caught a glimpse of very long red hair on deck. No. It couldn't really be her. But after a while, once they were only a few hundred feet away, a very beautiful, slim, red-haired woman emerged from below-decks and Cade let out a muffled cry. It was Rhone. Rhone was on the boat, grinning at him mischievously with a playful spark in her deep green eyes. Wearing the clothes of a man! She wore dark trousers and a fitted white blouse with a vest over it. They seemed to be tailored for her size, clinging to her in strange places Cade knew clothes were not supposed to cling on a woman.

[Peyton]

Vara, who was lost in her own thoughts did not notice, only kept her eyes off in the distance, looking at something only she could see. When they stopped, Vara was helped from the small cabin and still she said nothing. She did not wait for Cade nor did she speak the the crew, her things were put on board and she walked down into the belly of the ship was, there she hoped to be alone if only for a moment. They would be on this ship for a while, a few days in fact, and she'd have plenty of time to voice her worries to Cade later. Now, she just wanted to think, wanted to let her mind try and sort things out on her own. Though she was married, she did not know if she was in love with her own husband. She did not feel extremely close to him, and she wasn't sure what she wanted to say. Finding a small dining type area, Vara took a seat and put her head in her hands.
